And I can smell it!' So then I caught a glimpse of a flame there, so I flipped around, and I was like, 'Ah f---! That's on fire,'" the officer recounted.Body-cam footage captured the officer banging on the front door of the home, trying to wake up the residents while checking on the growing flames in the back corner.Other officers arrived on scene, and by the time the Ogden Fire Department arrived, the first officer was inside helping the family downstairs gather coats and shoes to get out of the burning home."It's spreading to the point to where it's at is directly above the stairs," the officer told another. "You go downstairs, you can see it burning through."Ogden Fire Department officials said the fire was found smoldering in the attic and was fully extinguished within an hour of crews responding. The initial officer, along with the quick response from other officers and firefighters, was credited with preventing injuries and limiting the damage to an estimated $70,000.
