RingGo: UK's biggest parking app goes DOWN as thousands of drivers report mass outage

Drivers are facing chaos this morning as the UK's most popular parking app has stopped working during rush hour.The RingGo app, which is used by 21 million users, has gone down this morning, causing havoc for drivers up and down the country.The app allows drivers to pay for parking on their phones, rather than using machines at car parks, with RingGo used in more than 500 towns and cities across the UK.According to Downdetector, more than 1,300 reports have been made to say that the parking app is not working, with a huge spike at around 8am.Motorists with the application are seeing error messages, including: "We encountered a problem dealing with your request, please try again."Another states: "Looks like something went wrong processing your request. "Try restarting the app. If the issues continues, delete and reinstall the app before trying again."More than 1,300 complaints have been made about RingGo going down | GETTYMotorists have taken to social media to complain about the outage, with one driver using the live chat feature to question why she was unable to pay for 20 minutes.It stated that RingGo was experiencing "intermittent issues", but confirmed it was "working as quickly as possible to resolve this".Others have claimed that the phone number associated with customer support is also down, creating further issues.The RingGo app has seen a spike in complaints in the last hour | DOWNDETECTORIf the problem persists, thousands of drivers could be at risk of being fined, despite being unable to pay for their parking.Posting on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, a disgruntled driver questioned why the app wasn't working properly.They wrote: "App isn't working, website isn't working - I've been deleting apps and resetting passwords for the last 30 min, still nothing.RingGo has more than 20 million users across the UK | RINGGO"Customer chat also unavailable - I'm assuming fines issued in this time won't be valid?"Another user reported that the app was very slow compared to normal, with the app saying functions are "unavailable" when going to book a session.GB News has contacted RingGo for a comment.
