TREACY: Plans for Kilcock IPAS appear to be revived
Last June, I reported on the protests that led to the withdrawal of a proposal for the use of the former Shalom Nursing Home in Kilcock as an IPAS centre. A company called Frostbreak had applied for a Class 20F exemption but it was refused by Kildare County Council on June 11 last.
A number of local journalists had seen the application but it was difficult to find any details and despite the application having been refused local elected representatives had claimed to know nothing of any such plan. Added to that was the usual claim by some that the local protestors were acting on the basis of misinformation.
