Fallout’s Ella Purnell officially has some competition for the title of best Lucy, thanks to a jaw-dropping cosplay that has gone viral on Reddit. It is easily one of the best cosplays fans have seen, made even better by the inclusion of a Dogmeat look-alike, all thanks to a chance encounter. Two weeks ago, Reddit user Cheyennigins4 took to the Fallout subreddit to share her spectacular Lucy cosplay, which has already accumulated an impressive 24,000 upvotes. The cosplay is also notable because she appears to be posing with a service dog who just happens to be a Dogmeat look-alike, making the cosplay all the more authentic thanks to this chance encounter.
Cheyennigins captioned her post with the following statement: “I was cosplaying Lucy and got so lucky to meet this fella working hard at the con! People were really nice to let me get a picture! 😊 Happy episode 2 premiere day!”

Several hundred commenters even took it a step further, admitting they had to do a double-take after initially thinking the photo was of Ella Purnell herself. Reddit users were just as enamoured with Cheyennigins’ cosplay as they were with the impromptu Dogmeat. The service dog appears to be a German Shepard, a breed that is visually a close match to the Belgian Malinois. This is the actual breed of CX404 (Dogmeat) in the Fallout TV series, primarily played by the canine actor Lana 5.
While not an exact match, most agree that the German Shepard and Cheyennigins’ cosplay is so convincing that they almost feel like a teased upgrade for the two characters ahead of Season 3. Together, they rank among the most impressive look-a-likes fans have seen. Creations like this not only heighten excitement for Fallout Season 3 but also reinforce the franchise’s lasting appeal.
