NATO troops immediately deployed to Greenland as ‘a deterrent to the US’

The US President has ramped his plans to have Greenland and NATO have immediately deployed troops to the country. France, Germany, Norway, Sweden and the UK have sent troops to the Arctic island to help boost security for Greenlanders. The French President Emmanuel Macron said, “The first French military elements are already en route,” adding, “others will follow,” warning that “peace is under threat” globally.” Macron insisted “France and the Europeans must continue to be present wherever their interests are threatened.” He said that “Europeans have a particular responsibility there,” as Denmark is a NATO and EU member. France has joined the Danish exercises planned as part of the Operation Arctic Endurance, Macron confirmed and the first unit is “already on site and will be reinforced in the coming days by land, air and sea assets.” He said, “This is the role that France must play: to be available when assessing the threat, to be able to adapt and to stand alongside a sovereign state to protect its territory.” US officials along with Vice President JD Vance and the Secretary of State Marco Rubio after the meeting with the Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen warned that it is clear that the president has this wish of conquering Greenland,” which is “absolutely not necessary.” A  Downing Street spokesman said, “We share President Trump’s concern about the security of the High North. And you see this as part of Nato and JEF nations stepping up to reinforce security in the High North.” Adding the deployment is aimed at “stepping up with stronger exercising, to deter the Russian aggression and the Chinese activity.” Dr Seb Gorka, a deputy assistant to the US President told GB News, “I talked to one of my colleagues who was in that meeting – it went very, very well. “Get a map, or better, get a globe. Look at where this country is. Look at its position. Whose hemisphere is it in? The fact that Greenland is closer to this city, Washington DC, than it is to Copenhagen. “And if you look at the marine traffic routes, the threat from China, from Russia, from others, it’s the opposite of what the lying fake news media will tell you. “Our Greenland policy will make Nato stronger and safer. It will protect the West and the United States.” Journalist Lewis Goodall said, “Truly stunning development. European troops being deployed to Greenland as a deterrent to… the United States.”
