Ilocos Sur welcomes new archbishop of Nueva Segovia
LAOAG CITY – Roman Catholic faithful in Ilocos Sur gathered on Wednesday at the 18th-century Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption in Santa Maria for the installation of Archbishop David William Antonio as the new head of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. To accommodate the large religious and cultural gathering, Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias Singson ordered the suspension of classes at all levels in both public and private schools, as well as work in public offices across the province.
