Avengers: Doomsday Directors Reveal The Real Meaning Of The MCU Movie's 4 Trailers
The four Avengers: Doomsday trailers are out, but it seems there might be more than meets the eye when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe teasers. The MCU's next Avengers movie is still nearly a year away, with Avengers: Doomsday set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026. Still, Marvel has begun promoting the film in a huge way. Four looks at Avengers: Doomsday's story were released in theaters with screenings of Disney's Avatar: Fire and Ash. The first Doomsday teaser revealed Chris Evans' return as Steve Rogers, while the second showed Chris Hemsworth's Thor praying. The third teaser featured the return of Fox's X-Men, with the recently released fourth Avengers: Doomsday trailer focused on the Wakandans and the Fantastic Four. On Instagram, the Russo Brothers have now teased the deeper meaning behind the four Avengers: Doomsday trailers.
According to the Russos, the footage that fans have watched is not what it seemed, with the Avengers movie directors saying, "What you've been watching for the last four weeks… are not teasers. Or trailers. They are stories. They are clues…" The Russos end their tease by telling fans to "pay attention."
Since the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer, fans have been wondering whether the footage was truly from the movie or was being used to set the tone for where these players from the Avengers movie cast would be when the film begins. The caution in believing what is shown onscreen makes sense, as MCU movie trailers have been edited to keep elements a surprise or have lied in the past. For instance, the Hulk was shown in an Avengers: Infinity War trailer for a scene he was never in. Likewise, Spider-Man: No Way Home's trailer edited out Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's versions of Spider-Man from a team-up shot. Now, the Russo Brothers tease that the footage released so far is of stories and clues, not full-on trailers or teasers.

Marvel Officially Unveils 5 Heroes' Suits For Avengers: Doomsday
The new Avengers: Doomsday trailer is out, shining a light on the Fantastic Four and the Wakandans, which includes the reveal of superhero suits.
As such, the Avengers: Doomsday teasers so far might end up impacting individual character storylines, serving as setup for their arcs but not necessarily the movie as a whole. In the latest Avengers: Doomsday trailer, Namor and his people appear to be in Talokan, which is devoid of water. That tease could mean the incursions have started.
This would connect with the Russos' tease about paying attention to the clues laid out by the teasers. In Steve Rogers' trailer, he puts his Captain America suit away, and his son is revealed. Perhaps it is all a clever play, taking place in the past, and Steve looks different, with an older child, in Avengers: Doomsday. Based on the Russos' comments, the clues are out there.
