If You Stare Long Enough, This Special Edition Maserati Turns Blue, Green, Or Both

The Maserati Grecale Cristallo debuts with a color-shifting Azzurro Aureo finish and subtle interior tweaks, available across gas and electric versions https://www.carscoops.com/author/mikecarscoops-com/ by Michael Gauthier Maserati has introduced the new Grecale Cristallo special edition. It features a unique Azzurro Aureo paint job and extra equipment. The special edition can be had with gas and electric powertrains. The Olympic torch passed by Maserati’s Modena plant earlier this week, and in true Stellantis fashion, the company decided to mark the occasion with the introduction of the new special edition Grecale Cristallo. The latest in a long line of not-so special-editions, the Grecale Cristallo draws inspiration from Monte Cristallo, which is billed as “one of the most iconic peaks in the Dolomites.” The company went on to describe the mountain as a “place where matter and light meet with almost sculptural precision, creating an aesthetic defined by balance and elegance.” More: Stellantis Keeps Maserati Alive One Special Edition At A Time That brings us to the Grecale Cristallo, which features a new and exclusive color known as Azzurro Aureo. The eye-catching hue blends a blue base with golden mica flakes. This creates a unique look as the crossover can appear blue, green, or a combination of the two depending on lighting conditions. These colors are a tribute to the mountain, while the golden mica recalls the “symbolic value of gold medals.” Designers didn’t stop at the paintwork. The special edition crossover also receives a unique grille that features Azzurro Aureo inserts. The Grecale rides on 21-inch diamond-cut wheels and buyers will find self-leveling hubcaps as well as Maserati-branded valve caps. Interior changes are minor, but the Cristallo has elegant Ghiaccio (Ice) leather as well as “exclusive finishes and features.” The company didn’t say much about them, but noted the crossover has special floor mats and lamps that project the trident logo onto the ground. The Grecale Cristallo special edition is currently available to order and can be had on Modena, Trofeo, and Folgore versions. The Modena has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 325 hp (243 kW / 330 PS), while the Trofeo has a 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 pumping out 523 hp (390 kW / 530 PS). Lastly, the fully electric Folgore has a dual motor all-wheel drive system with 542 hp (405 kW / 550 PS).
