Austin Stack Park in Tralee.While it might be the wish of Kerry’s footballing rivals that some of its players would suddenly disappear down holes in the middle of a game, over 50 years ago this was a distinct possibility at the home of the GAA in the county.The pristine and expertly executed playing surface at Austin Stack Park today belies its past mysteries when fears that subterranean features beneath the pitch could suddenly give way at any minute while games were in progress.
