Eric Clapton has become a grandfather for the third time, after his 'secret daughter' welcomed a baby girl with her partner Peter Greenwood.The rock star, 80, secretly fathered Ruth Clapton during an affair with studio manager Yvonne Kelly, while he was married to George Harrison's ex-wife, model Pattie Boyd. Ruth, 40, took to her Instagram to share the exciting news that she'd given birth on Tuesday morning, and revealed the sweet name they'd chosen.She also posted an adorable picture of the little girl wrapped up in a cardigan and lilac hat, as she vowed to tell her followers more about the birth and c-section at a later date.The singer and content creator penned: 'Cecelia Rose Clapton-Greenwood Born 6th Jan 9.21am. 'All of us are so in love with her and I can't wait to share my c-section journey with you but I'm just not quite ready to be out of our newborn bubble yet. Just couldn't resist sharing this pic of her with you all before leaving the hospital today.' Just over 12 weeks now, due at the end of January 2026. So grateful,' she wrote in the caption. However, her pregnancy has not been plain-sailing, with Ruth explaining that she had to mind of complications she faced in her past two pregnancies.'In my pregnancy with Ted, I had high blood pressure towards the end which meant they had to put me into hospital,' she told her followers. 'So it just puts me under a certain type of risk factor.'While she also had difficult first trimester, as she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness that also impacted the Princess of Wales during each of her three pregnancies.Ruth explained: 'It just takes me out. Sometimes I am sick all day every day. And then you're just so tired. 'Luckily, I have an amazing partner who just picked up the slack with the kids, the house - all while also working full time. That's been amazing.' Despite the challenges, she previously told fans: 'I'm excited to really enjoy this time. This is definitely the last time I'm going to do this, and I'm just really excited and happy.' Ruth has had a tumultuous relationship with her famous father over the years, with her existence being kept secret from the public until 1991 when she attended the funeral of his four-year-old son, Conor.Conor, the son of Eric and model Lory Del Santo, 66, fell to his death from a window on the 53rd floor of a New York skyscraper, and was the inspiration for the Grammy Award-winning song, Tears In Heaven.In an interview for his MTV special the year after Conor's tragic death, Eric told how Ruth had helped him process his grief, saying: 'Ruth has been a tremendous support.
