Simu Liu suggests Melissa Barrera as strong contender for DC’s next Wonder Woman
While casting has not been finalised, Gunn has previously addressed fan speculation around potential contenders. Speaking to Extra, he acknowledged that Hit Man actor Adria Arjona could be a strong fit for the role. “I follow Adria on Instagram, but everybody came out (and thought), ‘He just followed her; that means she’s Wonder Woman,’” Gunn said, before adding, “She’d be a great Wonder Woman, by the way.”The character was most recently portrayed by Gal Gadot, who introduced the modern cinematic version of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She went on to reprise the role in Wonder Woman, Justice League and Wonder Woman 1984, along with brief, uncredited appearances in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash.
