Nicolle Wallace Calls Out Joe Rogan For Shifting Trump Stance: 'I Hope He Cringes'

MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace on Tuesday called out Joe Rogan and several other “manosphere” podcasters who supported President Donald Trump ahead of last year’s election, only to now voice concerns over his erratic behavior and unpopular policies.“Many people who might have associated themselves with Donald Trump, even this time last year, are already having some second thoughts and saying so publicly,” Wallace said during a “Deadline: White House” segment.“It’s easy to see in the so-called manosphere,” she added, using the term for websites, podcasts and forums that promote masculinity, often as a backlash to feminism.Wallace began with comedian Theo Von, who interviewed Trump ahead of the election and attended his inauguration alongside Rogan — only to rebuke the Department of Homeland Security for using his likeness in an official video celebrating the government’s mass deportations. She then played a clip of fellow comic and podcaster Andrew Schulz, another frequent guest of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” who joked about the end of pronouns after Trump won last November — only to explain in July that he “voted for none of this” big government, pro-war agenda.Wallace finished with a moment between Rogan himself and Vice President JD Vance, who appeared on the podcast one week before the 2024 election, in which Rogan praised Trump’s supposed lack of aging — before decrying the “horrific” immigration raids in recent months.Rogan publicly endorsed Trump one day before the election.“I’m not playing those clips because any of those men are heroic. I’m playing those clips because all three of them contributed to Donald Trump’s victory in an important way — in a way that maybe people like me didn’t appreciate,” Wallace said Tuesday. She continued, “Joe Rogan has the biggest podcast in the country, maybe in the world. … I hope he cringes as much as I did, and I’ve never even met him, that he ever said, ‘He didn’t age at all.’ I mean, the first term he might not have aged because he didn’t work very hard.”Wallace argued Trump can’t even properly “connect nouns and verbs inside sentences” these days while leisurely plotting strikes against foreign nations, and rued that Rogan and others “sucked up” to Trump and “helped him win” before having second thoughts.Wallace said she doesn’t “know” what these podcasters intended by seemingly softening Trump in the public’s mind for yet another term, but concluded from their recent comments that they now “can’t get far enough away from the stench” of Trump’s “political failures.”Rogan endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in the 2020 election. When he interviewed Trump last fall before endorsing him, he pressed Trump over his false claims that the 2020 election was rigged.
