A small rural business based in Altass, Sutherland, is celebrating a string of major award wins on both national and global stages.Candles from the Croft, a sustainable home fragrance brand operated by local entrepreneur Sandie Gordon, has received multiple prestigious accolades in recent weeks, recognising excellence in sustainability, innovation and customer service.Entrepreneur Sandie Gordon has continued to grow Candles from the Croft, expanding beyond Scotland and building a loyal customer base.Among the latest honours, the business has been named Eco Friendly Candle Maker of the Year – Scotland by Lux Magazine, Most Innovative Scottish Gifting Company 2025 by the Scottish Enterprise Awards, and Fragrance Brand of the Year at the Corporate Livewire Global Awards. The company also received the Customer Service Excellence Award 2025 from SME News.In addition to industry recognition, Candles from the Croft has achieved notable success across the wider UK small business sector. The company secured a place in the Official UK Top 100 - Best Business Start Up 2025 and the UK Top 50 - Best Home Based Business 2025.Founder Sandie Gordon was also named Highly Recommended - Female Entrepreneur of the Year, placing just outside the UK Top 10.The achievements mark a significant milestone for a business that is less than three years old and operates from a remote rural location, competing against far larger companies with extensive teams and resources.
