Former Irish international O'Kane becomes Banagher boss
Former Republic of Ireland international Eunan O'Kane has been appointed manager of Derry GAA club side Banagher.
O’Kane is living at home after the end his club career in England which yielded spells with Leeds United, Bournemouth and Luton Town.
Banagher confirmed the appointment to RTÉ Sport this afternoon, revealing he has been involved with the club in recent times before taking on the role.
He also helped out the Moneyglass women's side.
O'Kane featured during the Giovanni Trapattoni era and was on standby for Euro 2016, but missed out on selection for the final 23-man squad for the tournament.
The 35-year-old retired in 2021 after a series of injury problems.
Banagher have never won the senior Derry football title, with the dual club winning the hurling competition on three occasions.
