LDA to open applications for first phase of cost rental homes in Adamstown
The Land Development Agency (LDA) has opened applications for the first phase of almost 400 cost rental homes at Adamstown, west Dublin, marking another step in the expansion of the State’s cost rental housing programme.
A total of 392 apartments are being delivered at The Crossings in Adamstown, Lucan, with applications for the first phase of 248 homes opening at 12pm on Wednesday, 7 January 2026. Eligible applicants will be able to apply through the LDA’s website.
The initial phase comprises a mix of apartment types, including nine studio units, 120 one-bedroom apartments, 116 two-bedroom apartments and three three-bedroom apartments.
All homes will be A-rated for energy efficiency.
Cost rental is a relatively new housing tenure in Ireland, offering long-term, secure rental accommodation at rents at least 25% below prevailing market rates.
The model is aimed at households who do not qualify for social housing or other State supports but are struggling to meet private market rents.
Monthly rents at The Crossings will start from €1,024 for a studio apartment and €1,380 for a one-bedroom unit. Two-bedroom apartments will be available from €1,550 per month, while three-bedroom apartments will rent for €1,792.
The LDA said further application phases will be launched in the coming months, with full details on eligibility criteria, application requirements and occupancy limits available on its website.
The Crossings development is being delivered under the LDA’s homebuilder partnerships initiative, Project Tosaigh, which provides financial support to enable housing projects to be completed.
The scheme is being developed in partnership with Evara, the lead developer of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone.
