A top Ukrainian negotiator has hailed the talks as a ‘real progress’, after meeting with Trump envoys in Berlin. Volodymyr Zelensky described the meeting as “productive”, stressing that Kyiv needed ‘clear security guarantees’ before issues of sovereignty could be discussed. Donald Trump believes has state Putin can accept a Nato-style article five security guarantee for Ukraine following the three days of negotiations. Ambassador Bolton is more skeptical of the talks, stating that the US president ‘couldn’t care less’ about a peace deal as the whole process is ‘part of his application for the Nobel Peace Prize’. He continues to say that territorial issues associated with ‘giving up’ the Donbas is not something Zelenskyy would be willing to compromise on.
