All-Ireland Ladies’ Football Club finals LIVE: Updates from Croke Park as two Ulster sides go for national titles
The All-Ireland Ladies’ Football Club finals take place today, with Knockbride of Cavan and St Ergnat’s, Moneyglass, taking on Galway opposition in Croke Park.Knockbride take on Caltra, from the east of the county, in the intermediate club final at 2pm in Dublin, with Knockbride overcoming Cork opponents Naomh Ában of Baile Bhuirne in the semi-finals.Later on, St Ergnat’s of Moneyglass will represent Antrim in the AIB All-Ireland Senior Ladies’ Football Club Championship final against the four-in-a-row champions, Kilkerrin-Clonberne. The Galway side have not lost an All-Ireland Club title since 2019, when Cork’s Mourneabbey claimed the honour.In their recent dominance, they have beaten one Ulster football giant to the Dolores Tyrrell Memorial Cup, when Donaghmoyne of Monaghan fell by six points in 2022.St Ergant’s defeated Dublin and Leinster champions Kilmacud Crokes in their semi-final, whilst the Galway and Connacht victors conquered Waterford and Munster side Comeragh Rangers LGFC.The Antrim and maiden Ulster champions Moneyglass hope that they can upset the odds again and bring the All-Ireland title to Ulster for the first time since 2016, when Donaghmoyne of Monaghan went back-to-back.
