While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Prince Harry joked about auditioning for a holiday movie because Americans are "clearly obsessed with royalty." When Stephen Colbert refuted the claim, the Duke of Sussex mocked Donald Trump, adding, "Really? I hear you elected a king."

During a speech at the British American Business Council Los Angeles' 65th Christmas Luncheon, Prince Harry trolled Donald Trump's immigration policies while discussing the 2026 World Cup, which will be partially held in the United States. "Next year, I know we are looking forward to welcoming more Brits from across the pond," he told the crowd. "Provided they behave and if they make it through customs and past ICE. The British are coming, hungry for victory and they're thirsty."

According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, the jabs at Donald Trump aren't a great look for Prince Harry. "Harry's been an extra twice in the last week, once in the critically excoriated With Love, Meghan [Meghan Markle's Netflix show] and the other on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show," he told Daily Express. "The former was pretty meaningless, although we learnt what foods he doesn't like. The latter was silly and it wasn't wise to mock Donald Trump!"

For his part, Donald Trump hasn't held back from ribbing Prince Harry. During the Republican's state visit to England, Trump appeared to shade Princess Diana's youngest son by gushing only about Prince William in his speech to the family. "His Majesty [King Charles III] has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Really amazing. We've gotten to know you and I think you're going to have an unbelievable success in the future," he said.

When Donald Trump was asked about trying to deport Prince Harry back to England, he took the opportunity to slam Meghan Markle. "I don't want to do that," the conservative told the press. "I'll leave him alone. He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible. I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose."

After Donald Trump's visit with the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly upset. "Harry and Meghan can't believe what they're seeing," journalist Rob Shuter claimed. "The pomp, the handshakes, the compliments — to them, it looks like bowing down to a man who has openly insulted them for years. It was a dig, no question. Watching the family laugh along felt like betrayal. Harry and Meghan won't forget this night — or the message it sent."
