Loose Women star issues family health update as all shows cancelled
Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has been supported as she announced all upcoming shows on her YouTube account have been cancelled. The 61-year-old posts clips on the streaming platform with her husband Mark Adderley. The shows include a daily news digest named Coffee Moaning and a relationship posted named How to Stay Married (So Far). However, Nadia has taken to social media to confirm the daily and live shows will be on hold for the time being due to an illness in the family.A message posted on Instagram said: "Cancellation. We are very sorry but we have cancel coffee moaning and ALL live shows on The Sawalha Adderleys YouTube channel due to family illness. We will let you know more asap."Love Nadia and Mark xx."People took to the comments to wish the couple support after the message. Fellow ITV star Dr Amir Khan took to the comments and said: "Sending love."A follower named Penny added: "Sending love and hugs." Amy added: "Sending love to you and your family." Jordan said: "Oh no!! Hope everything’s okay. Sending lots of love."The update on Nadia's YouTube channel comes amid looming changes for Loose Women, which she regularly features as a panelist on.From next year, the number of episodes of Loose Women will be reduced to air on a season basis for 30 weeks of the year. The ITV show previously operated on this schedule from 2006 to 2016.The shake-up will come into force in January and also see Good Morning Britain extended by 30 minutes until 9.30am. The additional runtime means Lorraine Kelly's self-titled chat show will be cut by 30 minutes and run from 9.30am to 10am.Another change to Lorraine will see the number of episodes slashed, as it will only air for 30 weeks of the year, in the same way as Loose Women.Addressing the changes on her YouTube channel earlier this year, Nadia said: "What’s been brutal, absolutely brutal, over the last week, honestly I feel tearful about it, is that hundreds of people… are going to be made redundant out of the blue, these are all the people behind the scenes that support us in every way.”She accepted that inflation was “insane, and cuts have to be made”, before becoming emotional. She said: “A lot of my friends and colleagues on this show and have worked for ITV have been there for decades… and I can’t tell you how upsetting it was to see people walking around numb with shock and fear about what they are going to do… (when) television is coming very slowly to its natural end.”She added the announcement had “been so awful, it has been worse than whatever trolls have been saying about our shows that we feel really protective of”.Nadia said: “Do you know what, at the moment, all of us on screen are in work and are proud of what we do. But behind the scenes there are people that are really suffering, and what you don’t realise is when you attack the show you attack them, because you never see all the army of people behind the scenes and how hard they work.“So to all my friends and colleagues behind the scenes that have just got a huge shock out of the blue, I’m so sorry. “And (my husband) Mark (Adderley) knows just how upset I’ve been at home about it. I just can’t bear it. So just be f****** kind (to) people.”Kevin Lygo, managing director of ITV’s media and entertainment division, said the changes will be “generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres”.He said: “These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”
