DJ Tim Westwood in court to enter pleas over allegations of indecent assaults at BBC Studios
Tim Westwood has pleaded not guilty to four counts of rape(Image: Getty Images)Former BBC Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter Tim Westwood has pleaded not guilty to four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault today (December 8).The former DJ stood in the glass dock at Southwark Crown Court in London with his hands clasped in front of him when he was arraigned on all 15 counts. The court heard that three of the alleged indecent assault offences allegedly took place at the BBC Studios in 1996.The 68-year-old, who arrived at court wearing a black hooded coat over a maroon shirt and black trousers, is alleged to have committed offences against seven women between 1983 and 2016.Mr Westwood, pictured arriving at Southwark Crown Court today(Image: Getty Images)The court was told that Mr Westwood, of Westminster, stands accused of having raped women, kissed them and touched their bodies without consent.He is alleged to have committed four indecent assaults in London during the 1980s, as well as three indecent assaults at the BBC in the 1990s. The defendant is also alleged to have raped a woman in a hotel in 1996.Two further indecent assaults are alleged to have taken place during the following decade, in the early 2000s, as well as one count of rape at a London address. Two further counts of rape are alleged to have been committed at a London address in the 2010s.Mr Westwood is also accused of having sexually assaulted a woman at a nightclub in Stroud, Gloucestershire, in 2010.A provisional trial date was set for January 2027(Image: Getty Images)He was granted bail by the court but ordered not to contact the complainants ahead of a pre-trial review hearing, which will take place on a date to be decided in December next year.Judge Tony Baumgartner set a provisional trial date for January 25, 2027, before Mr Westwood left the dock.
