In a press release Wednesday night, Inferno and Rum Runners announced they would be permanently closing, effective immediately.
"This decision was carefully made after evaluation of our operations and the economic pressures currently affecting the hospitality and nightlife industry," the release stated.
Inferno said it explored many options, but said current conditions make business unsustainable.
"For years, both venues have welcomed guests from across Cleveland and beyond — hosting unforgettable nights, themed events and stories people still try to piece together the next morning," Inferno wrote in the release. "Inferno was the place you ended the night because that's where the part really started, turning moments into memories yearning to be relived the next day. Rum Rummers gathered or Afuera Saturday crew every weekend, uniting a community of the most loyal regulars. To everyone who supported us, danced with us and made these spaces your favorite destinations, we extrend our sincere gratitude."
Additonally, Margaritaville in the Flats announced that it has already closed temporarily.
In a Facebook post, the businesses wrote, "our flip flops need a break too! Stay warm, stay happy, and stay tuned for updates."
Magaritaville did not give a reason for the closure.
