PNP on ‘heightened alert’ for the holiday season
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be on heightened alert for the holiday season this year, said its acting chief, Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. “Starting this Christmas, no one will be allowed to take leaves. All will be on duty,” Nartatez noted in an interview with reporters after Camp Crame’s holiday tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday night. “We will be on heightened alert.
