Empowering businesses to grow - UWL wins at West London Chambers of Commerce Business Awards
The University of West London (UWL) won Business Enabler of the Year at the West London Chambers of Commerce Business Awards on Friday 21 November at Novotel London West in Hammersmith.
The Awards celebrate businesses in the London Boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
The Business Enabler of the Year award celebrates an organisation that effectively empowers other businesses to thrive through innovative solutions, impactful partnerships, and exceptional support services.
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Business Development and Partnerships) Dr Suresh Gamlath said:
“We are delighted to have won Business Enabler of the Year 2025. This category is highly competitive, and our goal was to win after being Highly Commended last year. It recognises efforts across all schools, colleges and central services to support businesses through innovative solutions, impactful partnerships, and quality support services.”
UWL was also Highly Commended for the Diversity and Inclusion Award, which celebrates organisations that champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in their workplace, fostering an environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.
Pro Vice-Chancellor (People & Digital) Adrian Ellison said:
“We are delighted to have been Highly Commended for our work to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) into the heart of our strategic vision. Our mission is to nurture talent in all its forms, regardless of social background, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability or any other protected characteristic; and to empower our people to be confident, leading career professionals where their wellbeing is supported.”
