Baltimore Ravens star Dre'Mont Jones has joked that he can't buy Christmas gifts for his children this year after being fined $14k by the NFL for making a 'violent gesture' last weekend.During Baltimore's 23-10 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, Jones was seen celebrating a late sack in the game by putting his hand up to his throat and performing a slashing gesture to seemingly indicate that the win was secured.Yet almost a week on the 28-year-old has received a heavy fine from NFL chiefs over his 'violent' celebration in Maryland.Jones, who signed a one-year, $8.5million contract with the Tennessee Titans before being traded to the Ravens earlier this year, took to X on Saturday to react to his penalty.He quoted a post reporting his fine and put: 'I was just saying “it’s over” like in a competitive sense and now my kids aren’t gonna have Christmas gifts this year #ThankYouNFL'.Despite his clear humor, a number of fans quickly took issue with the NFL choosing to fine Jones over the celebration.
