Family of Carlow hurler Oisín Kelly urge GAA members to give blood in new campaign
Former Carlow hurler Oisín Kelly who benefited from blood transfusion during his treatment for cancer - his family are urging GAA members to support blood donation.The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) has launched a nationwide ‘Every Drop Counts’ campaign at Croke Park, urging young people, especially within GAA communities, to give blood and make it a consistent part of their lives.The appeal is inspired by the legacy of Oisín Kelly, the young Carlow hurler who passed away from bone cancer in 2023. Members of Oisin's family and club Naomh Eoin were in Croke Park to help launch the appeal.
