3 Best Joe Rogan Episodes That You Must Watch and 3 That Are Widely Hated

The Joe Rogan Experience has hundreds of episodes for you to choose from, each featuring the host engaging in deep conversation with his guests. Whether it’s Hollywood’s top-tier names or politicians, Joe Rogan has talked to anyone you could think of, and then some. However, Rogan recently uploaded the 2416th episode of his podcast, and let’s be honest, no one has time to watch over two thousand episodes, each longer than an hour or two. So, if you are someone who wants to understand the JRE hype and is wondering where to begin, we have curated a list of three episodes you need to watch and three you can skip. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and the host has a plethora of guests for you to choose from. Here’s our top three: 1 The Joe Rogan Experience – Jimmy Carr (#2045 and #2326) Credits: PowerfulJRE/YouTube Jimmy Carr has always been a very witty man, and is someone you would want to take the time out to listen to. Put him in the same room as Rogan and you have hours worth of content to binge on without getting bored. During episode #2045, Carr and Rogan discuss everything from comedy outside of America to s*xual equality to student loans. Clearly, there was no chapter left untouched. Add Fandomwire as a Trusted Source Carr discussed the difference between how the world reacts to comedy vs the United Kingdom. In his words, “The Risen Christ could come on stage and they’d go, ‘Yeah…I don’t think…’” As for America, Carr admitted that the country is for “dreamers“. Then in episode #2326, the comedian/writer/host was welcomed by Rogan once again, and this time, the conversation went on for over three hours. They talked about cold plunges, AI taking over the world, the possible existence of multiverses, and so much more. Check out the episodes for a blend of conspiracy theories, humor, and more! 2 The Joe Rogan Experience – Bill Murray (#2282) Actor, comedian, legend, Bill Murray appeared on the JRE back in March 2025 for the podcast’s 2282nd episode. The 2-hour-long episode was full of wisdom, candor, and even a few tears. Sharing a few words of wisdom during the conversation, Murray stated, Everything we are or everything we hope to be, everything we dream about…it’s all within the skin. You gotta stay within the skin. If you can make yourself come back, if you can get yourself back inside, you don’t have so far to go to achieve your intended goal. You don’t have to drag yourself back from outer space. You’re not dreaming over there. I’m in my body already, so I’m close. Murray may have been referring to golf to make the point he was trying to make, but it can easily be translated into everyday life. Later, Murray gets emotional while watching a scene from Johnny Depp’s film, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), in which the actor played the role of the famous journalist, Hunter S. Thompson. 3 The Joe Rogan Experience – Brian Cox (#2217) Credits: PowerfulJRE/YouTube Physicist and musician Brian Cox has been on JRE multiple times, but his appearance on the #2217 episode takes the cake for us. As a professor of particle physics in the School of Physics and Astronomy (University of Manchester), you best believe that Cox had a lot of interesting tidbits to talk about during his podcast appearance. For instance, he spoke about something that intrigues everyone, everywhere: black holes. Cox revealed that he had been working on black holes, and the progress that has been made is “profound and exciting“. He further explained, It’s mainly theoretical, although we have now got photographs of them. We have two photographs, which are radio telescope photographs. One of the ones in the center of our galaxy…Sagittarius AAR…it’s 6 million times the mass of the sun…Then there’s another one…in the galaxy M87, 55 million light-years away. That thing is around 6 billion times the mass of the sun. So, if you are interested in hearing all about what’s above us, episode #2217 is one you cannot, and should not, miss! Now that’s three episodes you need to put on your watchlist immediately. But what about the ones you can skip if you want to? Let’s take a look. P.S., one of them easily became Rogan’s most disappointing guest of all time. 1 The Joe Rogan Experience – Iliza Shlesinger (#1882) Credits: PowerfulJRE/YouTube Stand-up comedian and actress Iliza Shlesinger has appeared on a few episodes of JRE, and each time, the viewers are left a bit disappointed with the conversations. Her “jokes” often fall flat, and even Rogan cannot keep the boredom off his face. For example, during episode #1882, she disses The Rock’s cheat meal, calling him out for having millions of dollars but not indulging in good food. For the entirety of the segment, Rogan looks the least bit interested in the topic of discussion, giving his input wherever he could. The comments section absolutely obliterated Shlesinger. One wrote, “Don’t try to joke around with Joe on sober October, he’s got zero patience“, while another wrote, “I love how she always bombs on the pod.” Rogan himself told his guest, “Maybe it’s just in your head, maybe you need to let it go.“ During another moment, Rogan talks about having Bernie Sanders on his podcast, calling him a “sincere” man. To that, Shlesinger jokingly said, “Okay, cool. I’ve had my mom on my podcast. You want to flex?” Needless to say, Rogan was not impressed, and neither were the fans. Someone wrote, “Joe regretting this interview 10 minutes in.“ 2 The Joe Rogan Experience – Ari Shaffir Credits: PowerfulJRE/YouTube Ari Shaffir is a comedian/podcaster/writer and more, who has made multiple appearances on Rogan’s podcast. While there isn’t any specific controversy tied to him, fans of the podcast just don’t appreciate his behavior most of the time. He often comes across as arrogant and downright demeaning. However, according to WatchMojo, those close to the comedian claim this is a persona he puts on for the camera and that he is actually pretty likable in real life. There was one episode when Shaffir farted in the studio, prompting Rogan to call him out and state, “From now on, do me a favor and go to the bathroom.” Basically, viewers do not seem to be fans of the episodes the comedian is in. 3 The Joe Rogan Experience – Dr. Zahi Hawass (#2321) Credits: PowerfulJRE/YouTube Rogan has been in the podcast business for almost two decades now, and while he has had all kinds of guests, one stands out for him, and not in a good way – Dr. Zahi Hawass, an Egyptian archaeologist. He is also an Egyptologist and the former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. During the episode, Dr. Hawass would answer with “In my book” to any question Rogan had for him, leaving the audience unsatisfied with his appearance on the show. In episode #2325, Rogan recalls the episode with Dr. Hawass, stating, “That might have been the worst podcast I’ve ever done…This is the closed-minded fellow that’s been in charge of gatekeeping all the knowledge about Egypt…” A fan commented, “After you get through all the scammers at the pyramids, he’s the final boss.” Another wrote, “I never leave a comment but I have to give Joe props for putting up with this guy for 2 hours.” As for his answer to everything being “It’s in my book”, an exasperated viewer commented, “I was an orphan. Spent years in foster care. 37 years old. Found my biological parents in his book.” Needless to say, neither the audience nor the host was a fan of this guest.
