The Worst Thing We Heard On A Comedy Podcast This Week
It’s possible that I am already dead and being assigned to listen to the weekly Flagrant podcast for Cracked.com is my eternal punishment for giving into the temptation of fast fashion one too many times. But in the event that Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh really did interview UFC president Dana White—and it is not a personal hell crafted for me by a malevolent god—it is the worst thing I heard on a comedy podcast this week. For those unfamiliar with White, beyond his role as the president of Ultimate Fighting Championship organization, the Joe Rogan doppelganger is also a rabid Trump supporter. So much so that next summer, UFC will host a fight on the White House lawn to celebrate Trump’s 80th birthday and the 250th year of the United States. On Flagrant, the subject of the big White House fight came up within three minutes of the nearly two-hour episode.
Don't Miss
“When you're looking at the AI image, it's a little crazy,” Schulz said to White. Crazy is a bit of an understatement—the image Schulz is referencing has the most famous symbol of the US as a backdrop to a fighting arena that looks like it was rendered for the Tron franchise (derogatory).White responded to Schulz’s comment with complete sincerity: “I love it. We're literally building that, that thing, because what I didn't want was a lighting grid blocking out the White House. I want the whole White House to be the background of this fight.”The UFC president went on to provide a few more details about the fight, and addressed the ample criticism that has been levied against the project. Some of that criticism includes UFC fighter Brandon Royval calling the event “Hunger Games type fucking shit,” and regular Americans calling the idea “stupid.”“People are so critical of everything,” White said. “Believe me when I tell you, you know, we're paying for everything. The government isn't paying for anything…I said earlier, it's going to cost us a million bucks to replace the lawn that we're going to tear up.”
“If there was only some people that weren't deported that could do that,” Schulz replied. “Put ICE on hold for a few more months!”The more details that White shared about the June 2026 UFC card—which promises to feature some of the top fighters in the world, and possibly non-top fighter Conor McGregor—the worse the podcast got.
“The plan is that the President wants to do it for the military,” White explained. Due to security logistics, fewer than 4,000 people will be able to attend the fight in person. But that hasn’t tempered White’s ambition for the card. “Listen, this will be the most watched fight of all time,” White said.If that’s the case, it’s not just me that’s in Hell. We’re all here.
