Lee County, FL - A quick-thinking Florida deputy saved the life of a 1-year-old girl who had stopped breathing.Officials said that Deputy Curtis Redford from the Lee County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) quickly responded to an emergency call at a local home.Upon arrival, he reported finding little Catalina unresponsive. The video shows that with no time to waste, Deputy Redford began performing CPR immediately.Thanks to his rapid actions, Catalina started to breathe on her own by the time emergency medical services (EMS) arrived, according to the sheriff's office.According to LCSO, she was then transported to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with a febrile seizure, a sudden medical event caused by a high fever.LCSO said that Catalina's family is incredibly grateful for Deputy Redford's quick response and dedication. They hope to raise awareness among new parents about the potential dangers of febrile seizures, which can occur unexpectedly.
