Spencer Lofranco, ‘Gotti’ and ‘Unbroken’ Actor, Dies at 33
Spencer Lofranco, star of the true crime drama Gotti and ’s war drama , has died. He was 33.
Santino LoFranco announced his brother’s Nov. 18 death in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday: “You lived a life only some could dream of. You changed people lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP.”
The British Columbia Coroner’s Office on Friday confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that a formal investigation into Lofranco’s death is underway. No additional comment was offered by a spokesperson for the B.C. Coroner’s service, which is called in to help establish a cause of death, “as the investigation remains open.”
Born in Toronto on Oct. 18, 1992, LoFranco appeared in the 2013 romantic comedy At Middleton, which starred Andy Garcia, Vera Farmiga and Taissa Farmiga. Directed by Adam Rodgers, the indie sees Garcia plays George, a mild-mannered heart surgeon tagging along with his teenage son (Lofranco) on a tour of the campus at Middleton College.
Lofranco then starred in the 2014 crime drama Jamesey Boy, where he played James Burns in the troubled kid tale. Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames and James Woods supported Lofranco in the lead role.
Lofranco also played Harry Brooks in Jolie’s 2014 war drama Unbroken, and in his last credited role, he portrayed John Travolta’s onscreen son, John A. Gotti, in the 2018 drama Gotti.
