Brookhouse Brewing in Ohio City to close

OHIO CITY, Ohio — A brewing business that's been around since 2018 has decided to close its doors for good at the end of the year.  What You Need To Know Vaughn Stewart said he's working to keep the location at 1526 W 25th St. as a gathering place Brookhouse Brewing still plans for three more releases this year Stewart said the last day will be on or around Dec. 31.  "Join us, won’t you, to enjoy a pint and a hearty handshake, a celebration of all that we’ve accomplished, an occasion to gather with family and friends," wrote Vaughn Stewart in a Facebook post. "We are so overwhelmed with gratitude for your patronage and encouragement through these hard post-pandemic years. The fact of the matter is that we have seen a significant decrease in revenue in 2025, and paired with ongoing economic headwinds, we are unable to continue to bring you 14 unpopular beers and 2 IPAs in a charming setting." Stewart said he's working to keep the location at 1526 W 25th St. as a gathering place, saying he hopes it will continue to offer the unique charm of Ohio City.  "To know the history and character that comes from old bricks, beams of wood from the 1700s, warped tin, that old world aesthetic which inspires creativity and conviviality," Stewart wrote. However, Brookhouse Brewing still plans for three more releases this year: Modern Craft Pils, Celestial Spirit IPA and Whoops! Lil Juicy NEIPA. Stewart said the final batches have been brewed, and they will come out this month.  Stewart said the last day will be on or around Dec. 31. He added there may be final parties or gatherings to account for. "Please know that though it is always hard to say goodbye, our intention is to do so with all the love and joy that appreciation for community and culture engender," Stewart wrote.
