Padraig Harrington's net worth takes a jump after sizable payday with Senior Open win

Irish golfer Padraig Harrington saw his net worth take a nice jump after winning the Senior Open Championship over the weekend. The title means the Dubliner joins an elite group of only five players to with both the Open title and the Senior Open title. Along with the trophy, the 3 time major winner took home a cheque for $447,800, with a total prize pot of $2.85m on offer. Harrington turned professional in 1995 after winning the All-Ireland Mother and Son Tournament with mother Breda, and official figures show he earned around $32m on the PGA Tour and €28m on the DP World Tour, formerly European Tour, although there is some overlap. The 52-year-old won three majors in 13 months, including back-to-back Open Championships in 2007 at Carnoustie (€1.1m in prize money) and 2008 at Royal Birkdale (€938,600) and the 2008 PGA Championship at Oakland Hills (€876,200). Harrington won a further 12 tournaments on the European Tour, including the 2001 Volvo Masters/Tour Championship, three on the PGA Tour, and four on the Asian Tour. He joined the Senior PGA Tour Champions in 2020 and had one of the biggest wins of his career when he took home €683,000 for triumphing at the 2022 US Senior Open. His net worth has been estimated at €40m. Harrington's sponsors include equipment suppliers Titleist, Wilson and FootJoy, biotechnology firm Amgen, US insurer Mutual of Omaha, sportstech company Orreco, and Dunnes Stores, which exclusively stocks his Padraig Harrington Golf clothing collection. He and wife Caroline own Harrington Golf Ltd, which reported accumulated profits of €255,000 in 2022. The company had €409,400 in cash at bank and in hand, and the Harringtons paid themselves €77,600 that year as co-directors after making a profit of €171,900. The company owed Harrington €144,300 at the end of 2022 after he advanced the firm €71,700 during the year.
