Woman found dead as police probe 'unexplained death'
Police are investigating an "unexplained" death in Stockton. Officers attended an address on Middleton Walk, Stockton, on Monday, July 7 where the body of a 38-year-old woman was sadly found in a property. Cleveland Fire Brigade were also called to the scene after reports of a fire alarm. There was also evidence that a fire had taken place in the property, which had been extinguished before arrival, a Cleveland Police spokesperson confirmed. “The woman’s family has been informed of her death and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time,” they added. “The death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’, whilst officers carry out enquiries around the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death. These enquiries are ongoing.”

As previously reported, a forensic team was pictured at the scene and a police cordon erected days after the body was found. On Friday, photographs show a large police cordon in place within the street. Forensic investigators, dressed in white overalls, can be seen entering a home in the street.
