Dead dog discovered inside crate in field

It was found by a member of the public on June 26 in Church Road, Lowestoft. The body of the dog was extremely decomposed, but it is thought to be a cream or white coloured young female small lurcher or whippet. It was found inside a crate with a blanket and a bowl and she was wearing a blue rope as a collar. It remains unknown what the cause of death was because of how badly decomposed the body was when it was discovered. However, it is thought the dog could have been abandoned alive, as the bowl and blanket had been left inside the crate. RSPCA Inspector Ben Kirby: “We are grateful to the member of the public for reporting this and to the police. We are keen to find out who may have owned this dog and left her there.  “It is absolutely heartbreaking to think this poor dog was abandoned and could have died as a result of this from prolonged suffering. “No matter what the reason, abandoning an animal alone and in a situation like this is never okay. There is no guarantee that an abandoned animal will be found in time.
