Full line up for Darley Street Market's 'Lifestyle Hall' revealed
One floor of the new three-storey market will be dedicated to non-food traders, with many making the move from Bradford’s previous markets, Oastler and Kirkgate.
There will be 26 traders in the lifestyle hall.
Bradford Council has announced the final list of traders coming to the Lifestyle Hall at the new Darley Street Market in Bradford city centre.
After being beset by delays and overspends, the market will finally open on July 12.
As well as the Lifestyle Hall there will be a fresh food floor and a food court with numeous street food vendors
Joining those already announced for this floor of the market, A&J Shoe Repair, Ann’s Haberdashery and Blossoms on Darley Street (florists) will be 23 other traders.
Covering hair, beauty and health at the new market will be Nail Fairy and Mystic Brows, The Make-Up Stall, and The Beauty Bar, who are transferring from the old Kirkgate Market, alongside Hair Creations and The Oud Project who are moving from the Oastler Market.
New businesses coming to the market are The Make-Up Stall, The Beauty Bar, Mehran Hair Studio, Beauty Spot Warehouse, Pop Specs Opticians.
Fashion and accessory stalls opening will be Kammy’s Necessities (hosiery, hats, scarves and gloves, Gold Gift Shop, H&K Textiles (clothing), HS Fashion (ladieswear), Travel Style (ladies bags and luggage), and Jajja Fashions who are moving from the Oastler Market alongside Finesse Jewellers who will be coming from the Kirkgate Market.
They will be joined by new business Mr Jeans (menswear and Mish Mash jeans stockist).
Shaid Hussain from Mr Jeans said: “From our online sales we know that the people of Bradford love the clothes that we stock, so we’re so excited to be starting our new outlet here in this amazing new market.”
Home style stalls include The Curtain Shop and Symbian Technology who are moving from the Kirkgate Market, HN Bedding and Curtains, BK Hardware, Caz Domestics, BSX (webuysellexchange.com) who are all moving from the Oastler Market.
David Metcalfe from The Curtain Shop said: “Although we’ve changed our name and have a whole new market stall, we’ll still be offering the same great service that our customers from the Oastler Market love. We hope to see customers old and new at the new market and look forward to continuing to dress the windows of the district from our new place in Darley Street Market.”
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport said: “It’s important that the new Darley Street Market continues to offer the wide variety of local, independent and traditional traders in the city centre, so I’m delighted that so many have been able to transfer from the old Oastler and Kirkgate Markets.
"We are also welcoming new traders who are expanding their business into the city centre and the mix between the two is great to see.”
