Man charged with murder after death of 39-year-old

Police swarmed Greenock Road after a man was allegedly seriously assaulted in the area on Thursday, July 3. Officers were called to the alleged incident shortly after 2.30am. After arriving at the scene, the 39-year-old man was taken to the hospital; however, he died a short time later. His family has since been informed. Following the alleged incident, David Arthur, of Paisley, has appeared in court charged with murder following the man's death. During his appearance on Friday, July 4, Arthur made no plea. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court again in the next eight days.
