'A Witch’s Life in Mongol' to Receive Anime Adaptation

The historical manga, “A Witch’s Life in Mongol,” is getting an anime! Its English title will be “Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia.” Animation production studio Science SARU (“DAN DA DAN,” “Devilman Crybaby,” “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off”) will be adapting the anime for TV. TV Asahi Animation released a new teaser trailer that introduces the main characters Sitara (Fatima) and Töregene: Created by mangaka Tomato Soup, the historical fiction manga began serialization in 2021 on Souffle by AKITASHOTEN. To celebrate the announcement, “A Witch’s Life in Mongo’s” author, Tomato Soup, shared the following statement: “Over 10 years ago, long before I began drawing A Witch’s Life in Mongol, I was fascinated by the history of the Mongolian Empire. I often thought, ‘I wish there were an anime like this.’ That thought led me to daydream: If such an anime existed, what kind of characters would appear? However, Yen Press will release an English version of the manga on May 27.  “Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia” follows Sitara (Fatima), a former slave from Tus. One day, Mongolia invaded Tus and kidnapped her. Her master died fighting to protect her. Fatima later meets Töregene, the 6th wife of the Mongolian Emperor who also isn’t too fond of the Empire.
