Which type of fabric should I use for my banner and why

There is a wide variety of material that can be used to make banners. Mesh and frontlit are well-known options and the ones that are chosen most frequently. On this page, we explain all of the different materials that are available so that you can easily make the choice that is most appropriate for your particular circumstance.

Mesh

The structure of this material is similar to that of a mesh. Because of the way the mesh is constructed, it is able to allow wind through, and as a result, it is ideally suited for use in areas where there is a great deal of wind. By using this material, you lessen the likelihood that the banners will become torn or will be blown over. A disadvantage of the mesh-like structure is that the level of detail of the imprint is not as good as it is with other materials when viewed from a close distance (less than two meters). However, when viewed from a greater distance, almost nothing will be discernible. Because of the structure, the banner can be seen through at close range (less than one meter), which makes it less effective as a visual barrier.

The grammage of our mesh is typically between 270 and 280 g/m2, and it is constructed out of PVC. If you would like, we are also able to print on mesh that is 350 g/m2; in this case, you will need to request a price quote. In terms of its ability to resist fire, our mesh also carries the FR B1 certification.

Frontlit

The frontlit lighting effect can be utilized either indoors or outdoors. It does not have a structure that is similar to mesh, so the level of detail is significantly higher than it would be with mesh. Because of this, the banner is an excellent choice for various settings such as exhibitions. A frontlit banner has the potential to catch significantly more wind than a mesh banner, which is one of its drawbacks. Because of this, you might want to avoid using frontlit in locations where the banner is likely to be subjected to a significant amount of wind, such as a long wall of mobile fences with frontlit screens. There is a strong possibility that the entire wall of fences will be blown over, which could result in damage to the banner as well as to third parties.

Our frontlit has a grammage of 510 g/m2, is made of PVC, and is certified as meeting the requirements of FR B1.

Speakermesh or soundmesh may also be used.

  • Speakermesh or soundmesh is a material that has a structure similar to that of regular mesh; however, the openings are larger so that sound can travel through it more freely

  • The print, on the other hand, has a slightly lower level of detail than the original, but because it is typically viewed from a distance, it still appears to have a very sharp focus

  • This content is ideal for use at events and festivals, for purposes such as covering the speakers, for example

Our speakermesh is certified as being compliant with FR B1 standards, has a grammage of 250 g/m2, and is made of pvc.

ProPes ProPes is a remarkable substance that cannot be found anywhere else on the market.

It appears to be made of a combination of frontlit, mesh, and flag material. The print has a level of detail that is even higher than the frontlit version. In addition, the fabric does not create any wrinkles at all and maintains its smooth appearance even after being folded. Because it is resistant to the elements, ProPes can be deployed in open air environments.

In contrast to other materials, ProPes is made of polyester with a weight of 225 g/m2 rather than PVC, and it is printed with pigment inks that are based on water. Due to the fact that the edges of the banner will not fray, it is not necessary to sew them together. Instead of metal, the eyelets are made of plastic that has been recycled. Due to all of these factors, this material is very eco-friendly, and as a result, it is appropriate for use if you want to keep your ecological footprint to the smallest extent possible.

However, there are two things that could go wrong. The shortest side of the banner cannot be longer than 300 centimeters because ProPes is not FR B1 certified. To put it another way, a banner measuring 300 cm by 500 cm can be made, but one measuring 301 cm by 301 cm cannot.

pvc backlit banner

The pvc flex banner roll effect is very similar to the frontlit one. The pvc banner suppliers fabric, on the other hand, allows more light to pass through than regular fabric, and the primary light source is located behind the banner. This is very helpful if you want to hide light sources such as spotlights behind the banner for reasons relating to aesthetics, safety, or lack of space. You can use this to your advantage in any of these situations.

The backlight is made of a pvc banner material suppliers with a weight of 500 g/m2 and is not FR B1 certified.

Blockout

Blockout is the heaviest and most durable of all of the materials that we offer. The fact that a black layer has been added to the material in order to prevent light from passing through is the primary characteristic of blockout. When the banner is hung in front of a window or when there are many different light sources that you can't control (for example, at fairs and expos), this is an extremely helpful feature to have. Even if a powerful light source is shining on the reverse side of the material, the objects that are located behind the banner will not be visible through it. There is one version that can only be printed on one side, and there is another version that can be printed on either side.

a blockout with just one side (4/0)

Single-sided blockout is made of 610-670 g/m2 of pvc backlit banner and has a certification that is at the very least a B2 and at the very most a B1.

The blockout is on both sides (4/4)

PVC with a weight of 610 g/m2 and a certification of B1 is used to make double-sided blockout, but 650 g/m2 PVC with a B2 certification is also used. Banners can only be made out of this one type of material, which allows for printing on both sides.

The grammatical structure of the banner is decided by the production line that is used to make the banners. If you have a particular grammage or certification requirement, feel free to get in touch with us at any time for a quote that is made specifically for you.
