Jordan says its air force has launched air strikes in southern Syria targeting sites it describes as terrorist hideouts linked to a deadly attack on a Greek Orthodox church in Karak, Jordan.
Syrian media report that at least five people, including women and children, were killed in the strikes. Civil defence teams are working to recover bodies and establish the final death toll.
Jordanian security forces have arrested three suspects linked to the church attack, which killed at least nine people and injured dozens on Friday.
Al Jazeera's Heidi Pat reports from Damascus, where questions remain over whether the strikes were coordinated with or authorised by Syrian authorities.
