America Humiliated, Iran New Superpower? Saudi Defence Chief Leads U.S. Allies At Tehran Talks

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye have sent senior security officials to Tehran for a high-level regional meeting at a moment of mounting pressure across West Asia. Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin are in the Iranian capital as Saudi Arabia faces repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks and Tehran braces for the possibility of renewed US military action. The delegations also met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who said Iran supports understandings that strengthen unity among Islamic countries. Iranian media quoted him as arguing that Israel had learned Iran would not surrender and that greater Muslim unity could prevent further Israeli actions in the region. Saudi officials have framed the visit as part of efforts to prevent renewed escalation, keep diplomatic channels open and support mediation. The meeting brings key Makkah Pact states directly into Tehran as two major regional flashpoints threaten to converge.
