Trump Privately FUMES At Son Donald Jr. After Putin-Linked Russian Funds Wedding Party | Report

Donald Trump privately complained that his son showed poor judgment after Russian businessman Umar Kremlev helped fund Don Jr.’s post-wedding celebration in the Bahamas, according to The Wall Street Journal. Kremlev, who heads the International Boxing Association and was awarded Russia’s Order of Friendship by Vladimir Putin, reportedly contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars towards the festivities. Trump publicly played down the controversy, saying such wedding parties were common and that his son had paid Kremlev back. Kremlev later confirmed he was reimbursed but said he had not expected repayment. The Journal reports Trump’s private reaction was considerably less relaxed, with the president complaining to aides about his son’s judgment in accepting the contribution. The contrast puts the focus on two different Trump responses: a public defence of Don Jr. and reported private frustration over why the money was accepted in the first place.
