Iran Military SHOOTS DOWN U.S. Lucas Aircraft Over Bandar Abbas Port In Fresh Hormuz Showdown

Iran says its air defences have shot down an American LUCAS unmanned combat aircraft over Bandar Abbas, the strategically important Iranian port city overlooking the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iran’s Army, cited by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, Iranian air-defence systems detected and destroyed the US drone over the southern city. The military has not provided further details about the drone’s altitude, the weapon used in the reported interception or whether wreckage was recovered. Bandar Abbas is particularly sensitive because it hosts major Iranian military and commercial infrastructure and sits directly beside one of the world’s most strategically important maritime corridors. The reported shootdown remains an Iranian military claim in the supplied material. But if confirmed, it would add an aerial dimension to the confrontation around Hormuz, where recent tensions have largely centred on naval forces and commercial shipping.
