BREAKING: Houthis ‘BOMBARD’ Riyadh, Medina In Huge Drone Strike; Saudi Arabia On High Alert

Saudi Arabia says four drones have been intercepted over Riyadh and Medina as the aerial threat from the renewed Yemen conflict spreads deeper across the kingdom. Saudi-led coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Malki said air defences destroyed the four drones. Their reported presence over Medina is particularly sensitive because the city contains the Prophet’s Mosque and is Islam’s second-holiest city. The Houthis have previously said the airports and airspace around Mecca and Medina are exempt from their campaign, and Yahya Saree’s latest claimed target list did not include Medina. Saree instead claimed attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry in Riyadh, Aramco facilities in Yanbu, Abha International Airport and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. Saudi authorities say an attack in Dammam killed two people, including an Indian national. The latest developments show the expanding geographic scope of the confrontation as Saudi air defences attempt to stop missiles and drones targeting military, aviation and energy infrastructure.
