Border Town Taki on High Alert as Idol Immersion Unfolds Along India-Bangladesh Border | WION

Taki, a border town in West Bengal along the India-Bangladesh border, is on high alert as Durga idol immersion ceremonies unfold along the Ichamati River during Bijoya Dashami. Security has been tightened, with the Border Security Force (BSF) maintaining close surveillance to ensure the celebrations proceed peacefully. The river, once known for bringing together people from both sides of the border for shared festivities, remains a symbol of cultural heritage amid heightened border security and changing cross-border dynamics. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as devotees gather to bid farewell to Goddess Durga.
