‘WHERE ARE NATO FORCES?’: Hegseth Angers US Veterans, Allies With ‘Tasteless’ War Jibe | Watch

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has sparked controversy over his remarks about NATO allies' contributions during the Afghanistan war. Speaking at the University of Tennessee, Hegseth claimed that despite around 50 countries being represented in the NATO-led mission, only about five made meaningful contributions and just one or two were involved in combat operations towards the end. He also recalled a military joke that ISAF stood for “I Saw Americans Fighting,” arguing that some allies had become a burden rather than sharing one. His comments have reignited debate over NATO's Afghanistan mission and the sacrifices made by coalition troops.
