Italy is sending 500 additional soldiers to Milan following two days of riots that saw shops looted, police officers injured and hundreds of people detained. Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini announced the deployment as luxury retailers closed their doors amid fears of renewed violence. The unrest began during protests over rising living costs and deteriorating public services before escalating into clashes with police. Authorities reported 271 detentions on Sunday, while prosecutors estimated property damage at more than one million euros.
