France riots: Curfews in place in parts of Paris, Lille and other regions

Overnight curfews have been put in place in parts of Paris, Lille and four regions in the north of France in an attempt to curb several days of rioting.

More than 2,000 people were arrested during a weekend of violence in several cities.

Protesters are demanding action over school standards and the cost of living.

Similar demonstrations have broken out in Spain, Portugal and Italy with growing public anger over housing and living costs.

But could similar disturbances happen in the UK?
