MACRON LOSES CONTROL! France Orders Curfews, Emergency ‘LOOMS’ After Days Of Violence And Looting
France is imposing partial and highly localised curfews as the government tries to contain looting and unrest following days of turmoil across the country. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said he had instructed prefects to introduce curfews in affected areas, with local officials consulting mayors and chambers of commerce over where restrictions should apply. Lecornu said the measures were intended to protect both people and property, particularly businesses targeted by looters. The prime minister described the disorder as a “very specific form of criminality,” pointing to looting and the resale of stolen goods. He said there was “no question” of allowing the situation to become entrenched. The move marks another escalation in the French government’s response after violent demonstrations brought burning barricades, damaged businesses, clashes and mass arrests. France is now turning to movement restrictions in an attempt to prevent another night of disorder and restore control in affected areas.
