Ukrainian Weapons Production STOPS? All 28 Russian Ballistic Missiles Evade Kyiv's Defences
Russia launched a major overnight attack on Ukraine involving 28 ballistic missiles, other missile types and more than 300 drones, with Kyiv’s published interception figures listing no ballistic missiles as destroyed. Ukraine’s Air Force said its forces destroyed or suppressed 293 aerial targets, including 289 drones and four Kalibr cruise missiles. Hits were recorded at 22 locations. Ukraine’s Energy Ministry reported damage across at least 10 regions, while President Volodymyr Zelensky described the barrage as one of the largest attacks on the country’s energy sector. Zelensky said more than 15 facilities supplying energy to defence-related production were struck, with power disrupted in several regions. The figures highlight the challenge posed by ballistic missiles even as Ukraine intercepts large numbers of drones and cruise missiles. Russia’s use of multiple weapon types in the same barrage also forces Ukrainian air defences to confront numerous threats simultaneously.
