IMF Sees Resilient Global Growth As AI Investment Booms, But Warns Of Rising Risks
The IMF says the global economy is proving more resilient than expected, with growth holding up despite high energy prices, conflicts and inflationary pressures.
A major reason is the artificial intelligence investment boom. AI spending is increasingly driving growth, while Europe is also benefiting from AI supply chains, higher defence spending and stronger German chemical production.
But the IMF sees a major vulnerability: if investors lose confidence that AI will deliver promised productivity gains, the boom could weaken — with consequences stretching from the US and China to Europe.
