‘ICE OUT OF NEW YORK?’: Mamdani Faces Protests; Turns On Trump After Fatal Oscar Belgal Shooting

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has escalated his criticism of federal immigration enforcement after the fatal ICE shooting of Oscar Belgal, ordering a full review of the 24-hour period surrounding the incident.

Mamdani described the shooting as “horrific” and said New Yorkers are living with a “real sense of fear” over ICE activity across the city.

The shooting has intensified protests and anger over the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, with demonstrators demanding greater accountability and tighter limits on federal enforcement operations in New York.
